Artifact 29 - Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Training Certificate
Description
On July 24, 2019, I successfully completed the Social and Behavioral Research- Basic/Refresher course. This artifact is the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Training Certificate. It is required of students in the doctoral program and anyone working with human subjects or data acquired about human subjects that is requiring Institutional Research Board (IRB) review and approval.
Reflection
This artifact demonstrates my ability to conduct research and practice using professionally accepted and institutional review board guidelines and procedures. The CITI training is essential for anyone working with human subjects or human subjects’ data. The CITI training provided the content and context of the history behind case studies, data collection, and the IRB process from an ethical perspective. This training provided me with ethical knowledge of how to conduct research as a research practitioner. I learned how to properly conduct research and collect data that follows the IRB guidelines, as well as students' rights as potential participants in research. In 2019, I received approval for a research protocol under Dr. Sandra Quiñones's and Dr. David Carbonara's supervision.
